Michael Jordan's Restuarant to Ring In 2019 with "A Red Tie Affair" Blowout Showcasing Seaffod and Steak Towers, Wine Pairings.

WHEN: 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31

WHERE: Michael Jordan’s Restaurant, 1225 W. 22nd St., Oak Brook

WHAT: Inspired by the unmatched excellence of its namesake (and his love of the finest surf and turf), Michael Jordan’s Restaurant has planned a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration like none other, replete with showcase towers of seafood and filet mignon, wine pairings, cigars to take home and other surprise swag.

The food and wine experience, A Red Tie Affair, will unfold at 6 p.m. in the private dining room, where guests will be greeted by a seafood tower filled with an array of Alaskan Red King Crab, jumbo shrimp, oysters on the half-shell, scallops and more, accompanied by chilled bottles of sparkling wine.

The deluxe theme continues with the signature Wedge Salad and Lobster Medallions, followed by a show-stopping main course that steakhouse connoisseurs will love: A Study in Filet Mignon, featuring platters of bone-in and American Wagyu tenderloin.

Wines to be poured during the evening include a 2015 Matthiason Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013 Argot “Simpatico Ranch” Chardonnay and 2016 Banshee Pinot Noir.

Dessert platters will offer a host of sweets, accompanied by a 2001 Domaine de Rancy “Rivesaltes Ambre” Vin Doux Naturel. To cap off the evening, guests will be treated to a championship toast featuring—what else?—Miller High Life “The Champagne of Beers,” plus take-home swag bags with cigars and other goodies.

A Red Tie Affair is $175 a person. Six-person tables are available for $900.

A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the James R. Jordan Foundation, the education-focused nonprofit founded by the basketball legend’s mother Deloris Jordan in honor of her late husband.
