The 5th annual Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival introduces a weekend-long celebration of local art and flavorful fare. More than 130 of the country’s top artists will showcase and sell original work in a variety of categories including ceramics, glass, furniture, photography, jewelry, mixed media, drawing, fiber and more!
Kid-friendly activities, artist demonstrations, and booth chats to learn more about the artists and their work, make the Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival one of the country’s most popular! Kicking off at 4pm Friday with live music and delicious food and drinks, the Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival will feature a variety of food choices from local restaurants, as well as beer and wine. Live music will fill the streets of Evanston all weekend long from bands such as Recorded Music, Saturday June Band, Indika, Cirrus Falcon, The Noize, and Class of 68.
Kids will enjoy fun art activities including art fest bingo, spin art, coloring and a graffiti wall. New this year is the Evanston “Hands Together” Mural Project. Kids and adults of all ages are invited to add their hand print to a community mural showing that Evanston is a community of unique individuals that is stronger and more unified together.
Each participant will get an 8” x 8” square and a choice of paint colors to create a hand print. The hand prints will become part of a 4’ x 8’ mural which will be displayed in the community. Painting can be messy, so please dress accordingly. The Evanston “Hands Together” project will take place from noon – 1pm both Saturday and Sunday.
For those wanting to be part of the art, folks can step right into a famous painting and take a free selfie!
