Prost! 30th Annual Berghoff Oktoberfest Returns to Federal Plaza

It’s September, and that means it’s time for Oktoberfest! Berghoff brings its traditional German fest to Federal Plaza for the 30th year this Wednesday through Friday. There will be traditional German cuisine and Bavarian polka each lunch hour by Alpine Thunder from 11:30am to 2pm. In the evenings the plaza will be filled with the sounds of music from the 50s to today with Spoken Four, Sixteen Candles, and Semple.

Thirty years is an impressive feat, and to celebrate they’re paying homage to 1985 with Eighties Night on Thursday. Don your best 80’s gear and rock the night away with 80’s coverband Sixteen Candles. If you were born in 1985, show a picture ID and receive a free slice of apple strudel with purchase of a sandwich and drink. You can also win trivia prizes on their Facebook page as well as at the festival itself.

The 30th Annual Berghoff Oktoberfest menu includes classics like bratwurst, BBQ chicken, smoked sausage, corn on the cob, Bavarian soft pretzels (with beer-cheese sauce), chocolate chip cookies and apple strudel. There will even be vegan and gluten-free items like Quinoa & Grilled Vegetable Salad and German Pork Stew. Most importantly, there will be beer from Berghoff Brewery.
