Rob Zombie Concert at Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare + Photos

Rob Zombie had a busy weekend!  His haunted house, Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare at the Odeum Expo in Villa Park continued its second weekend in production and he performed two concerts at the Odeum on Friday, October 2 and Sunday, October 4.  If that wasn’t enough for him, he even went to Louisville, Kentucky to rock to 15,000 fans at the sold out Louder Than Life music festival on Saturday, October 3.  

Meanwhile, when Zombie and his crew were down south, Great American Nightmare hosted a concert on October 3 featuring Insane Clown Posse, P.O.D., Stitches, Dope D.O.D. and Young Wicked.  

I was lucky to attend the Friday concert where Zombie played to a packed crowd with his band featuring guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D. and drummer Ginger Fish, who did double duty and opened the show under his DJ Ginger Fish persona playing almost a full hour of tunes from his turntables and Apple laptop.  He donned a skull mask, black cloak and his audio-technica headset.  He started off with his dreadlocks casually pulled back behind his head, but by the end of his set, he had his hair down and was jumping around.  Ginger Fish has a ton of energy.  

I was fortunate enough to rock out with Rob Zombie and Ginger Fish’s opening night performance last year at Great American Nightmare and once Ginger Fish exited the stage, Zombie’s crew unfolded the backdrops to open up his set and shortly thereafter, the band came on followed by the main man himself.  

The crowd roared with excitement the entire night and Zombie didn’t disappoint, nor did John 5, Piggy D. and Ginger Fish.  Zombie’s rocked all over the stage with the utmost enthusiasm.  My favorite moments were when he left the stage to stand on top of the barricades to be closer to his fans and when his crew threw out enormous balloons for the audience to enjoy bouncing around.
