Out with the old and in with the new. Goodbye Mediterranean Grill, hello Modern Mediterranean! The eight Roti restaurants in the Chicago land area now have an addition. Their ninth establishment under the name Roti Modern Mediterranean, in Northbrook, opened yesterday. Although it is the second Roti in this town, it is the first of its kind to feature their new chic name with special new features.
I was delighted to have the opportunity to preview this new restaurant’s beer, wine and menu items before it opened to the public. This particular Roti is the first to introduce a plethora of menu additions which will take effect at the other locations throughout 2016. The new menu items include grass-fed beef, lamb meatballs, red lentil soup, and more.
As a vegetarian, I was more than excited to try their spicy hummus and chips, falafel, tabbouleh and cookies. The hummus was so fresh and served with delicious house pita chips. The falafel melted in my mouth, the tabbouleh was crispy and the cookies were a sweet snack. My friend Jaime attended the preview with me and tasted all the meat dishes for me including the lamb meatballs and sandwiches which were “fantastic,” she said.
One thing I love about Roti is that you have options. You have options across the board for food items as well as drinks. They have house made juices and teas, fountain drinks and this new Northbrook restaurant offers a selection of beers and wines. Some of the beer they serve include Anti-Hero IPA by Revolution Brewing and Daisy Cutter Pale Ale by Half Acre Beer Company. You can wine and dine on their white Tangent Sauvignon Blanc and their red Clos La Chance Meritage.
Another new feature to this Roti locale includes their slick new interior, a modern restaurant design by Aria Group Architects. The restaurant offers guests a comfortable dining area with booths and a semi-private seating area to indulge in “Food That Loves You Back.”
Do yourself and your taste buds a favor and enjoy the ROTI restaurant experience, or as I call it the Really Outstandingly Tasty Innovative restaurant experience.
