Ready, set, eat bacon! There’s a new event coming to Chicago, and this one lets you really “ham” it up. Chicago Bacon Chase is a fun run on June 7 that rewards your hard work with unlimited bacon.
Unlimited. Bacon.
To indulge in this feast of piggy proportions you can sign up for a 5k. Too hard? Register for the 0.05k. That’s right. If you walk / run / crawl a mere 164 feet you’ll be rewarded with all the bacon you can eat. You don’t even have to wait until the finish line to take part in this porcine pleasure. They’re passing out bacon bits along the course so you can hog it while hoofing it. At the end of the course you’ll not only inhale all the bacon your arteries can handle, you can also give a nod to your liver with a free Bloody Mary.
In addition to the good thing that is bacon, you can do some good in the world. When you register you can choose to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Raise $100 and get a pig snout and tail. Raise $1,000 and get a St. Jude’s backpack, perfect for carrying loads of, what else, bacon.
I’ll be there eating my fill of crispy meat candy (and doing that whole run thing, too). If you love bacon, and / or running and walking, join me! Bacon Chase takes place on June 7, 2014, at Montrose Beach, 4400 N Lake Shore Dr. Registration for the 5K is $55 for participants ages 8 and up, and the 0.05K is $25 for all ages. Prices go up beginning June 6, so register today!
