Save the Date: Ramenfest November 8

Ramen has hit the big time. Not that bag of dried noodes that costs 25 cents (15 cents if you buy it in bulk). We’re talking good ramen, ramen worth slurping in public. Ramen that’s even date-worthy.

The upswing in ramen’s fortunes is due in part to chefs like Bill Kim, restaurateur extraordinaire of spots like bellyQ and Urban Belly. To really show that the noodle dish has arrived it’s getting its own festival.

Ramenfest will take place on November 8 at Kim’s bellyQ, and he’ll be joined by chefs from around the city, including Boka’s Lee Wolen and Nellcote’s Jared Van Camp. Tickets are $45 in advance including food, cocktails, wine and beer, and a portion of the proceeds benefits Common Threads. There will also be a silent auction, with all proceeds from purchases going to the charity.

Ramen, you’ve come a long way, baby.
