Starving Artists Event Feeds the Community

Join the Chicago Artist Coaltion and some of Chicago’s best chefs for an evening that celebrates both visual and edible art.

Starving Artists, the Chicago Artists Coalition’s annual event, takes place on April 14 and is a fundraiser that combines inspiring visual artists with innovative culinary talent to raise money for their mission to build a sustainable creative marketplace and the Maker Grant. This year’s participating chefs include Michael Coté of Balena; Nathan Sears of Das Radler, Evan Behmer of Mercat a la Planxa. There will also be delicious plates from Piccolo Sogno, sweet and savory scones from Scone City, Pork and Mindy’s BBQ sliders, Garrett popcorn, late-night snacks by Shawn Doolin of Venue One and The Eastman Egg Company, and sweets by Mariano’s.

VIP ticket holders can attend the reception and live auction at the Chicago Artist Coalition, 217 N Carpenter, from 5:30pm to 7pm, followed by the main event at Venue One, 1034 W Randolph, from 7pm to 11pm.  Tickets are $175 for General Admission and $250 for VIP, and you can choose to sponsor an artist’s ticket for $50. Artists and arts administrators can attend the main event for $50.
