Taxi Surcharges Are Back

Gas prices have gone back up, so that means taxis are also more expensive. Last year the city implemented a fuel surcharge to ease the financial burden for taxi drivers when gas is higher. For the last seven days it’s been above $2.70/gallon, so as of noon today we pay $0.50 more per ride. FYI: they’re required to post an orange sign in the car; if you don’t see it, you don’t have to pay.
