The Local Tourist Celebrates 10 Years with Passport To Chicago

Over the last ten years The Local Tourist has grown from a business directory of River North into a comprehensive resource that covers the neighborhoods of Chicago and beyond. Millions have visited the site to figure out places to go and things to do. Robust content is added daily by our TLTeam of contributors, by businesses posting information about what they offer, and by locals and tourists sharing their valuable opinions, comments, and photos.

We think that’s cause for celebration, so we’re throwing a PARTY that brings The Local Tourist to life!

On June 3 we’re pulling out all the stops with Passport To Chicago, a multi-venue celebration that invites you to explore the city like a Local Tourist! Check out that place you’ve been wanting to visit but haven’t quite gotten to yet, or return to an old favorite. We’ve got something for everyone! Travel Chicago collecting stamps so you can say you’ve “been there, done that”.

In fact, we’re going to have so many places to go and things to do (kind of like the website, eh?) that there’s no way you can do them all in one day. That’s why you get to use your Passport for the next year! Bring your Passport back to participating businesses and you’ll get special discounts available only to Local Tourists.

You can also feel good about all of this exploring. We’re donating $5 from every Passport to local charities! Click here to see a list of participating organizations.

Each Passport also comes with a CTA Day Pass and a free ride from Uber. Plus if you get yours by May 11 you get our special edition “I’m a Local Tourist” cinch bag. AND this week we’re offering a Super Early Bird price of only $30!

Check out our participating businesses (like Candyality, Absolutely Chicago Segway Tours, Landshark Beer Garden, Chicago Children’s Museum, to name a few) and then get your Passport To Chicago!
