There’s much more to sake than those warm little bottles accompanied by those tiny little cups. In fact, good sake is served chilled, just like the nice wine that it is. In an effort to demystify the difference Roka Akor celebrates Sake Week, a bi-annual event that showcases the rice wine.
Their Summertime Sake Week is August 17 – 21 and they’ve teamed up with Tenzing Wine and Spirits’ and Joto Sake to showcase their selection of unique sakes. Each day two Certified Sake Specialists from Tenzing to answer any questions. There will also be a different featured sake each day that will be offered at a discount, including bottles, which will be 25% off.
The line-up includes:
Monday – Mizuno Shirabe Ginjo
Tuesday – Kikusui Junmai Ginjo
Wednesday – Narutotai Nama Genshu
Thursday – Tsukasabotan Hana Junmai
Friday – Tamajiman Tanrei Junmai Daiginjo
You can also get a flight of sake for $12. The specials are available Monday through Thursday that week from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and on Friday from Noon to 2pm. When you dine in leave your business card and you could win an Omakase Dinner for two with Sake Pairings.
Roka Akor is located at 456 N Clark St, Chicago, IL.
