Chef Kevin Gillespie loves pork from snout to tail. The Top Chef alum illustrates his fondness for pig with his second cookbook, Pure Pork Awesomeness: Totally Cookable Recipes from Around the World. The recipes go beyond bacon and pulled pork to explore the myriad array of porcine possibilities with recipes from far-flung corners of the globe as well as close to home.
This August Chef Gillespie will be in Jimmy Bannos home, serving up a five-course dinner at the celebrated Chicago chef’s Heaven On Seven. The dinner is part of the restaurant’s 35th anniversary celebration, a year-long event that includes appearances by chefs that Bannos respects and follows for his own inspiration.
The dinner, which includes cocktail pairings and a signed copy of Gillespie’s book ($30 value) is $85 plus tax and gratuity. There’s a limited number of seats, so you’ll want to get your tickets soon.
Heaven on Seven is located at 111 N Wabash, 7th Fl, Chicago, IL.
